Since March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, tennis clubs have closed their indoor courts and have been unable to play tennis even on outdoor courts.
After a few months, only single games were allowed on the outdoor courts, but after a while, double games were allowed.
Many ATP and WTA matches have been canceled in 2020, and major tournaments are slowly being held again from 2021 this year.
This year’s ATP major tournaments are also being held safely, and the tennis players showed good performances at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which was postponed for a year due to the corona virus.
And finally, the last major tournament of the year, the US Open, started today.
Nadal and Federer will not participate in this tournament. The number one seed, Djokovic, won all major tournaments this year, including the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon, bringing the total number of major championships to 20.
As a result, Nadal, Federer, and Djokovic were the three players to win 20 major championships.
