The movie ‘Seoul Spring’, which has been gaining popularity every day since its release in Korea on November 22nd, will soon land in the United States.
The release date is December 7th, which is the same as ‘Concrete Utopia’, which was previously announced for release in the United States.
While Concrete Utopia has already been released in the summer in Korea and was a box office hit during the summer vacation season, ‘Seoul Spring’ is a movie about dark times and is attracting the attention of older people who remember it.
The total running time is 141 minutes, which is over two hours. It will also be of interest if a director’s cut is released, as the original film, which lasted over five hours in total, was edited to over two hours.
‘Seoul Spring’ is directed by Kim Seong-su, and the cast includes famous actors Hwang Jung-min, Jung Woo-sung, Lee Seong-min, Kim Seong-gyun, and Park Hae-joon.
It is open to ages 12 and older, and if you have children of that age, it would be a good idea to watch it with your family.

Before going to see the movie, I watched a video on YouTube about the December 12 day called “Chun Doo-hwan’s historical day, reconstruction of December 12 – KBS History Journal That Day,” which aired on KBS 14 years after December 12, 1979.
While watching Part 1, my heart was already pounding and my fever was rising, so I continued watching.
We must keep in mind that as citizens of a country, we must accurately know the history of our country.
When you watch Korean dramas or entertainment shows, there are a lot of corn dogs. Instead of the corn dogs you ate when you were young, you may have seen a lot of scenes with sausages and cheese inside.

When I entered the store in the evening, many people were already filling up the place and there was a long line to order. There were many families with children, and there were also many young people.
When ordering, you select 10 types of corn dogs as shown in the photo below, and then choose the filling. You can choose from a variety of fillings, such as beef sausage, mozzarella cheese, half sausage and cheese, or chicken sausage.
When I received what I ordered, I was surprised at how much bigger it was than it looked in pictures or TV shows. The French fries were also very plentiful for the price of $3.99. I was very satisfied with the crunchy taste and not a lot of salt.

“KKUNNORI” which is gaining popularity in Korea as a place to enjoy simple drinks and snacks, has landed in Northbrook, a suburb of Chicago.
The location is the site of Daedonggak Chinese Restaurant, which has been famous for its Chinese cuisine for a long time. It’s sad that Daedonggak closed, but we also welcome the opening of “KKUNNORI” a popular bar in Korea.
The partial opening was advertised as September 30, 2023, so I looked up the business hours and found that it opens at 4pm on both weekdays and weekends. Closing time is 1AM on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 12PM from Sundays to Thursdays.
Compared to many restaurants that close at 10PM, it is open until late, so it seems to be the best place for late-night gatherings.
Although it is not a “room type” as advertised in Korea, it is a great place for group gatherings as it is separated from the tables next to it by a temporary wall.
Korea’s KKUNNORI restaurant seems to be popular with women on special occasions and people who prefer privacy rather than an open restaurant.
There is a Korean fusion menu, and there seem to be a lot of good dishes to snack on. Now, rather than drinking at a Korean restaurant, I think we can invite foreign guests to drink together at a Korean-style bar with delicious snacks.
The menu offers a variety of snacks that can be enjoyed by many people, including light meals (K-Food).
The Cheese Chicken and Kkabarou that I ordered tasted healthier than expected, not too salty or too spicy.

There are many Korean restaurants here in Chicago and its surrounding areas. However, unlike in Los Angeles or New York, there are no large-scale or specialized Korean restaurants.
A long time ago, there were successful restaurants in Korea and the United States, such as Woo Rae-ok, but they did not last long.
There are many cases where Koreans who live here or who come from Korea to the United States as tourists look for a good Korean restaurant, but either give up because there is no suitable place, or regret it after stopping by.

최근 넷플릭스에서는 한국 드라마뿐 아니라 넷플릭스 오리지널 한국 영화도 잇달아 개봉하고 있다. 코로나이후 극장을 찾아가는 고객이 줄어들면서 아예 넷플릭스용 영화를 만들고 넷플릭스에서 개봉하는 추세가 계속 이어지고 있는 것이다.
2023년 2월 17일, 새롭게 넷플릭스에서 선보인 미스터리, 스릴러 장르의 한국 영화인 “스마트폰을 떨어뜨렸을 뿐인데” 는 감독은 김태준, 원작은 일본인 시가 아키라, 주연배우는 임시완, 천우희, 김희원이다.
117분에 달하는 다소 긴 영화로 스마트폰을 통해 모든 개인의 일상과 은행업무, 스케쥴, 연락처를 비롯하여 개인의 취향을 알수 있는 게임 등 스마트폰은 개인의 모든 것이 담겨 있는 중요한 데이터인데 만일 이것을 분실하고 또 습득한 사람이 악의적인 마음을 품고 나쁜 짓을 벌인다면 어쩔수 없이 당할 수 밖에 없다.
스마트폰의 해킹 또한 한번의 클릭으로 폰 복제 및 미러링이 가능한데 본인도 모르는 상황에서 누군가가 나의 모든 것을 보고 즐기고 엿보고 있다면 생각만해도 끔찍한 일이다.
영화 마지막에 약간의 반전이 있지만 그래도 스토리 전개상 어떻게 내용이 전개될지 대략 가늠이 가능하다. 부모와 자식간의 연결고리도 다소 뻔한 스토리로 흘러가지만 임시완 배우과 천우희 배우의 소름끼치듯 자연스런 연기는 극의 재미를 끌어올려준다.
영화 포스터에도 나와있지만 “당신의 스마트폰으로 누군가 당신인 척하고 있다” 고 상상해보면 현실에서도 가능한 일이며 당신의 정보를 조금만 알고 있으면 몇번의 검색을 통해 더 자세한 정보까지도 알아볼수 있는 세상이 되었다.
게다가 SNS를 활발히 운영하고 있다면 여러 SNS를 통해 본인과 주변인 사진 및 아이디, 이메일, 전화번호, 친구, 지인 등의 정보도 쉽게 노출될 수 있다.
이 영화의 주인공중 한명인 임시완은 제국의 아이들이란 남성그룹의 멤버로 2010년에 가수로 데뷔했지만 2012년 “해를 품은 달” 에서 인상깊은 연기를 선보이며 배우로 인지도를 올리다가, 2014년 영화 “변호인” 과 2015년엔 드라마 “미생”의 장그래 역할을 맡으면서 2014년과 2015년에는 상도 많이 받았다.
반듯한 모범생 이미지인 임시완 배우는 이제까지 특별한 루머 없이 착실하게 배우로 성장하고 있다.
