Watching “Squid Game” Korean drama series on Netflix

In recent years, starting with the “Kingdom” series, many movies and drama series made by Koreans have become very popular with people around the world through Netflix.

In a situation where I have never played a squid game or a sugar draw in any country other than Korea, the overall atmosphere seems to fall into this series by understanding the psychology of people who play in extreme conditions rather than seeing the game properly.

It is a simple game, but the game progress is bad luck, and the penalty given to the loser is the part that viewers can easily immerse themselves in in the fear of death. I think it’s getting a lot of popularity.

In Korea, when playing these games in the past and losing, they say “You’re dead…”. Of course, we just say ‘dead’ to those who lose in a non-real game situation.

But in this drama series, if you lose the game, you really die. In the United States, there is an expression “out” in games such as baseball, but in Korea, it is expressed as ‘dead’, which is a stronger word from the old days.

It is only curious whether these backgrounds are actually expressed in this drama.

As this drama continues to be extremely popular around the world, there are many negative reviews in Korea as opposed to its popularity.

As this drama continues to be incredibly popular around the world, there are many negative reviews in Korea, contrary to its popularity, due to its too intense sexual expressions and bloody brutality.

However, this drama is a fictional world that is not true.

In this fictional world, it’s ridiculous to put anything else on the expression of the writer or director.

Of course, criticism comes from a lot of interest, and if many people around the world watched it for themselves and gave it a good score, I think it’s a well-made drama series.

In addition, Gong Yoo, who is widely known for his lead role in Train to Busan, appeared in the first and last episodes, adding to the fun of the drama.

[Enjoy Chicago] Best Korean-style fried chicken restaurants in Chicago area

When I visited Korea, the most delicious chicken restaurant I had in Korea was bbq chicken. I prefer a mild taste rather than seasoning, bbq chicken’s Golden Olive Chicken was perfect for my taste.

A few months later, when I came back to the US, bbq chicken caught my eye in the Chicago area.

Choong Man Chicken(CM Chicken), a Korean-style chicken restaurant that opened last year, is also my favorite, but I didn’t know that the bbq chicken I ate in Korea would be so close to where I live.

Chicago, Arlington Heights, Vernon Hill, Niles, and Spring Grove are already open, and Schaumburg, Lincoln Park, and Rolling Meadows are scheduled to open soon.

Choong Man Chicken also continues to open branches.

In addition to the first store opened in Glenview, close to the Joong Boo market(중부시장), the second store opened in Aurora and the third store was opened in Lincoln Wood.

Chicken is the best choice for a snack or side dish to pick up and eat during the pandemic. The recommended menu is definitely the Snow Onion Chicken.

Find Korean foods in Trader Joe’s – Bulgogi beef fried rice, Pajeon

When I visited Trader Joe’s after a long time, there were a lot of Korean food.

Korean food such as seasoned bulgogi, kimchi, and mandu dumplings have been seen recently at Costco, and I am very happy to have Korean food at Trader Joe’s.

If you look closely at the refrigerator section, you can find the following foods.

  1. There is Bulgogi beef fried rice with Kimchi and the price is $4.99.
  2. There is Vegetable Bird’s Nests (Tempura Vegetables with soy dipping sauce) and the price is $3.29.
  3. And Pajeon Scallion Pancakes(Pa jeon)…

Korean Foods Trader Joe’s Bulgogi beef fried rice with Kimchi

Bulgogi beef fried rice is fried in oil in a frying pan. The quantity is good enough for one person.

The rice was also chewy, so it suited my taste well. After putting it on a plate and sprinkling some sesame seeds, the delicious Bulgogi beef fried rice was completed.

Next, put the Vegetable Bird’s Nests and Pajeon in the air fryer and cook them without adding oil.

After about 5 minutes at 400 degrees, flip it over and run it again for 5 minutes.

The Vegetable Bird’s Nests and Pajeon tasted similar to those sold at Korean supermarkets.

When you miss Korean food, stop by Trader Joe’s.

I was happy because there were so many different kinds of Korean food such as Ribs, Beef Bulgogi rice, Pajeon, and Vegetable Pancakes.
